Our Committee Members

The Worcestershire Law Society is managed by a Committee that consists of 12 members, namely:

Iain Morrison,
President

A Partner with MFG Solicitors, Iain specialises in all issues of agricultural law, including farm sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters, single farm payment advice, planning, and advising estate owners. He handles both contentious and non-contentious areas including agricultural land tribunal work and arbitrations.

James Sommerville,
Treasurer

James qualified in 1978 and is an experienced civil litigation and employment lawyer. He has been involved with the Worcestershire Law Society since 1994 at committee level and was Secretary from 1996 to 2003.

Tom Evans,
Secretary

A Solicitor with Russell & Co in Malvern, Tom specialises in Private Client work including Wills, tax and estate planning, trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and related Court of Protection matters. Tom recently joined the Committee as Secretary.

Nick Hughes,
Vice-President

Senior Partner at Painters Solicitors in Kidderminster (including holding the dubious benefit of being COLP) having joined them as an Articled Clerk in 1981. Head of Property Department primarily dealing with Agricultural matters and Estate Development. Nick has recently joined the Committee as Vice-President.

Robin ap Cynan

Robin is an accredited family mediator with ADR Group, Family Mediators Association (FMA) and Resolution. Both a family and civil/commercial mediator and on the ADR Group mediation training faculty, he is a Member of the Council of the Law Society of England and Wales, former Chief Assessor to the Society's Family Mediation Panel and represents the Society at the Family Mediation Council.

Judy Bonegal,

Judy specialises in Probate work including the Administration of Estates, drafting of Wills, Care of the Elderly and Powers of Attorney. She also deals with property law matters.

Kirsten Bridgewater,

As a civil litigation Partner, Kirsten represents parties in a wide spectrum of legal disputes with particular expertise in property litigation together with a niche practice in rural disputes. Happily advising agricultural, commercial and private clients alike, Kirsten has extensive experience in dispute resolution whether by ADR, Court or Tribunal actions.

Emma Childs,

A Partner with Harrison Clark Rickerbys in Worcester, Emma has acquired wide experience in all aspects of residential property and deals with all freehold and leasehold transactions, equity release schemes, remortgages, transfers of equity and probate-related transactions.

Robin Humphreys,
Whatley, Weston & Fox

As a Partner, Robin heads up the Litigation and Employment departments for WW&F. He has a wealth of experience gained from practice in London, Hong Kong, Birmingham and Worcestershire. A Deputy District Judge and past President of WLS, Robin regularly broadcasts on local radio. He enjoys playing for the Worcester Lawyers Cricket team.

Kevin Joynes,

Kevin is a temporary member of the committee, standing in for Emma Childs who is currently on maternity leave. Kevin specialises in residential, commercial and mixed-use development work and has substantial experience across a range of property transactions.

Rob specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce, financial matters upon divorce and separation, cohabitation law and children issues such as contact and residence disputes.

A Partner with Russell & Co Malvern, Nick is an approved specialist provider in Civil Actions against the Police and other public bodies such as the CPS, Prison Service (The Home Office) Magistrates Court and Probation Service. Nick is also a well established Family and divorce lawyer and is a member of the Family Law Panel.
